 Red Sox 19 Brunswick Barons 1. It was the Casey McBride show, as WP Mc Bride was on his game, striking out 12 in 5 innings. 3B Aaron Soodek went yard in the first inning after a triple by CF Chet Nesley. The Red Sox never looked back as every player hit safely, except ironically Casey. The Red Sox play in the semi-finals at Godwin Stadium this coming Saturday.

The Drain Works Shockers squeaked by the Cape Fear River Rats in a thriller on Tuesday night.. The shorthanded 'Rats were clinging to a 7-6 lead in the bottom of the 9th. 'Rats 1B Kyle Gausman and CF Eric Goldblum led the offense while Dave Carpenter and Jason Thompson handled the mound duties flawlessly. WP Nick Studebaker battled all night and was rewarded when SS Jon Brunson drove in the winning run with a bases loaded walk-off RBI single. The Shockers play again in the semi-finals at Godwin Stadium this coming Saturday.
